Key Legal Requirements:

  • Registration: All manufactured homes must be registered with the BC Registry Services to prove ownership and location.
  • Certification (CSA): New homes must have a Canadian Standards Association (CSA) label (CSA Z240 for mobile homes, CSA A277 for modular). Used homes must have this label or a “Silver Label” from Technical Safety BC for electrical safety.
  • Installation & Site: Homes must be installed to comply with the BC Building Code, including proper foundation, anchorage (tie-downs), and, if needed, skirting.
